Analysis of Digipak Adverts
This is a Digipak Advert, it is based on the RAP genre with the famous singer Wretch 32. The basic conventions of this advert is that an image is used, not only just an image but an image of the singer himself. It also has an image of the album cover and various different shops and software that the album is located on for users to buy from. This advert has the main title across the middle of the advert, it also has a black background behind the text; which is white, this is to make sure that the text and information stands out to the user and guides them to read the important information they need to know about the album. Each section of text grows smaller depending on what is more important for the user to read, in this example it starts with the name of the artist being the biggest size text, then to the title of the album, then the date it is out and then finally to what it is featuring.
This is also a Digipak Advert, it is from the artist Tinie Tempah and his album called Discovery. With this digipak Advert you can see that it is similar with the above advert, they both use an image of the artist involved, and both use text size and style to make the user read the important information first, in this advert you can see that they have pick the title of the album in white with a background, this makes it stand out as it is different than the other text, then they have put the name of the artist in bold again to stand out, the date in a thicker and bigger text size to stand out above the standard text. With this advert they have made it so the image is looking up at the title of the album, which is called discovery, this is done purposely as it looks like the image has discovered something and is a good effect on the user.

Analysis of Digipaks
In this Digipak there are 4 pages, a front cover and back cover then two on the inside, one on the left and one on the right.
Mostly all Digipaks use pictures on every page if not 3 out of 4, they make sure that they use the same artist on each page to follow consistency and the style of the Digipak, they make sure that the name of the artist or album cover is shown on most pages, each page follows a set colour scheme which all contrast well together, for example in this Digipak they use black and white with different shades including brown and grey. In this Digipak it shows that they have an image behind the CD holder on the first page when you open the Digipak, the second page is kind of a contents page which is displaying what is on the CD, this is a good way to represent a magazine because normally in the second page you have the contents page. The use of wording in this Digipak is good, it displays the title on 3 different pages, this reminds the user who they are and when they see the title they know what it is, also they give the reader a contents area on the second page, it has a reasonable size amount of text, this is good because the user doesn't have to sit there and read loads of text. Since the layout of this Digipak is similar to one of a magazine, this gives the user a sense of knowing that he already understands the product and will have no issue with how to use the product. Depending on the genre of the Digipak will illustrate the different techniques used in order to suit this Digipak.

This is another Digipak, from this image you can see that there is again, 4 pages, front cover, back cover and two pages on the inside, this is the best way to present a Digipak as it helps you to understand the product from the beginning, with the main title and image on the front cover, then information about what is inside the product like a contents page. This is good for the user because you can quickly understand what the product is about and the information that is based inside.
Both Digipaks are similar in the sense of layout, they both use pictures on most pages and have some sort of contents inside to alert the user.
However with this Digipak they have used a smaller font and the user could find it difficult to read but you can learn a lot more from this Digipak compared to the other one.
All images relate to each other and there are always at least 3 images per Digipak of either a band member or something relating to the artist. Each pane has either some information or a picture that is related to the artist or band and this is what I will need to do on my Digipak.

Update
Over the half term, I was unsuccessful in terms of gaining any raw footage for my music video. With one of my main actors being on holiday it was impossible to get footage of him. However I managed to pitch my idea and will upload that footage as soon as it's ready and will now make sure that everything is up to date ready to start filming my music video. With the weather being bad lately and the chance of snow in the up-coming months, I will have to record shortly and make sure that it does not impact my project, however it is likely to rain and snow in the up-coming months.

Initial shootings
Over the half term, I'm planning on shooting a few locations with my actors there to test how they would look when I record them, this will give me increased knowledge over the locations and to see if they will be the correct locations for my music video, I will also start to record the start of my music video if everything goes to plan.

Prezi decision made
I have used Prezi for the past week and I feel like it would be better to use Prezi than Powerpoint, it has more options than Powerpoint and I can be more creative with Prezi as it has more techniques and the option to add research onto, such as I can add youtube videos to a page and analyse it with ease and have it done in minutes, instead of wasting hours of time trying to take screenshots on Powerpoint, when I can just upload it onto Prezi were it looks more professional and were I can be more creative.

Different music video genres
Rap
Pop
Many Pop videos suggest a sense of relief and passion for the music they make, for example Jessie J made a song called Who’s laughing now and the video had her being bullied in school and then how she is now and the title tells us that no matter what happens in life, if you get bullied you can achieve anything you want and it suggest that you should not rise above what anybody says to you and that you are an individual, different and unique in many ways.
In some rap songs such as “Eminem – Stan”
it show true passion and devotion to the lyrics of the song and show a meaning
or someone being hurt or upset, but with the intensity of the fast singing to
bring the song together and to show that something can go wrong quickly as in
the music video the guy called Stan kills himself after Eminem didn’t respond
to his mails.
R&B
R&B
In
some R&B music videos there are plenty to suggest that they are based to
love and sexuality, such as Ne-Yo’s song called Miss Independent he uses his
lyrics and the music video to devote his love towards women. Also Beyonce has
made a song called love on top, which you can guess just from the title of the
song that it is about love and the bonds between a man and a woman.
Dance
In
many music videos of dance, there is only people who are dancing in the room
with the beat of the music and enjoying the music, there is hardly any meaning
to dance apart from just having a good time
